I worked on concept design, literature research, CMF material design, material making, experience design, physical programming interaction design.
Electronic instruments of Electricity,this project is inspired by the growing relationship between electricity and our lives. Through experimentation, I abstracted electricity and life together and extracted patterns to express their inseparable relationship through combinations and permutations. From this, I created an electronic musical instrument with electronic materials as elements. When the user touches and feels the textures, the device produces different sounds accordingly.
Material Research
Took 16 items from everyday materials.
Blending the conductive inks with materials and resting for three days allows them to fully fuse before heating.
Selected nine of the materials for 3D scanning.
Prototype Testing
The recordings, derived from materials like clothing and leaves used in previous experiments, capture the extended interaction with the crowd and nature.
The files are stored on the memory card of the TouchBoard, which runs through Arduino. All blocks are connected to the TouchBoard using conductive ink.
When the audience's hand hovers over or touches the blocks, corresponding sounds are triggered.
